Iraq Surge = Out Now with Time-Delay
The latest brilliant strategy being promoted is the "Surge". One last big push and we can win. If we try really hard just one more time, we can do it. Last try, and if it doesn't work, we'll give up, we promise. They sound like gamblers on a losing streak.
Winning has been redefined down to a stable Iraq that can defend itself. In other words, like it was before we invaded.
Enough already. Admit it. WE LOST. We can't force another country to change to our liking.
Staying in Iraq will just prolong the destruction. Our best option is to announce that we are leaving, and prove it by dismantling the permanent bases we've been building.
If we are contrite enough, others may step in to help clean up our mess. The first step is to show that we have come to our senses by convicting the criminals that lied us into this horror.

As usual Cheryl, your advice is sensible and moral which pretty much precludes this Administration from heeding it. We can always hope.
I hope you and your family have a wonderful holiday and I look forward to reading more of your commentary in 2007.
Thanks Dan,
Merry Christmas to you and your family.
I hope the New Year brings a bit of justice.
Hi Cheryl, Hope you and your family are enjoying Christmas! And hope that you are feeling well on this day!
Unless or until the media stops with the one sided misinformation no one can start to bring the criminals into court. It would be a disaster for the newly elected to even try, and would guarantee repubs getting back in office in 08.
I seriously worked to get the DNC and DCCto put media reform on their agendas and so far the issue is not making the list of what the new Congress hopes to do. I'm not sure whether they are afraid to tackle the media or don't see that the people are mice and the media is the Pied Piper.
