Yard Signs Say the Darndest Things

I live in suburbia, where all the political signs are Republican. I've noticed something odd about the yard signs. They are all blue. All except Marilyn Wood. She has a red sign with white letters. I was curious about the person who proudly proclaimed her Republicanism.

Taking a closer look at her sign, I see:

  • Reelect Marilyn Wood - she must be the incumbent
  • Revenue Commissioner - the position she wants to keep
  • Experience - she is the incumbent
  • Integrity - who would claim not to have integrity?

In other words, Vote for me because I'm the incumbent, and I'm Republican.

Hoping for a little more information, I try an internet search. I find out that she doesn't have a web site, but she does have ethics complaints filed against her. Not much information there either.

The largest most numerous signs belong to Mike Dean. He likes to put giant signs at intesections with long red lights.

On his signs, I see:

  • Reelect Mike Dean - he's the incumbent
  • County Commsion - the position he wants to keep
  • NO NEW TAXES - catchy slogan
  • New jobs. New roads - what's he been doing all this time?

In other words, this time I really will do my job.

After an internet search on Mike Dean, I find out that he doesn't have a web site, but he does have ethics complaints filed against him. Very strange.

I did find their challengers' web sites. The web sites of both Renee Williams and Brad Warren are very informative.
